RWANDA PRAYER BANQUET

ABOUT US

What Are We

The Rwanda Prayer Banquet USA (RPB-USA) is a yearly event held in Washington, D.C., on the first Saturday in February. The RPB-USA has been held at Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center located at 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland.  Hosted by its members, RPB-USA attendance is around 350 to 500 guests, including Rwandan in Diaspora, Rwandan delegation, and friends of Rwanda from over 45 countries.

In early 2000, Ms. Kanyabutembo, the founder, together with the local group of Rwandan Christians, organized for the first time a mini-banquet evangelization inviting the Rwandan community in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia to rededicate the Nation of Rwanda to the Almighty God in reaction of 1994 genocide that occurred in Rwanda.

We believed in the power of prayer to the Almighty God will transform our Nation Psalms 33:12 says: ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” In response to this calling, the Rwanda Prayer Banquet USA ministry was born officially established in 2001.

Mission Statement

To rededicate yearly the Nation of Rwanda to the Almighty God the first Saturday in February, to pray for its Leaders, its people, and to promote unity, faith, and love in the spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the yearly rededication of the Nation of Rwanda to God will empower the love of Jesus Christ in our people and will bring transformation at all levels.

Vision Statement

The Lord appeared to Solomon when he had finished to build the temple of the Lord saying:

“… if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
